"In general, there’s not much place for performance now. It looks like the sixties too much, it feels like the sixties did, it feels like it’s something from the past. I’m not sure why that is, except... Maybe the same applies to theater. (...) It looks too old, it looks like the past. I do performances in front of a camera quite often, and I perform to the camera, making videos—[Maria Thereza](http://ensembles.mhka.be/actors/maria-thereza-alves) and I work together on videos. I think of it as performance, but it doesn’t work for a live audience, it’s just for the television, or what I think of as “television.” And that doesn’t look like the past to me."
